Dear families (in a mid-western U.S accent),
The day started just like any other, everyone grouchy awaiting their morning cup of joe in the diner (people waking up (in a mid-western U.S accent)).
We all fled from the wrath of Earl (the bell), and did our meditation at the bus stop with Doctor Pomatter (yoga in the tent with Selma (in a mid-western U.S accent)).
And it went on, Cal (Ann) – as per usual – had us set up the tables for the morning rush. But little did we know, today we were gonna get a visit from a television station!!! (TV2) They wanted to see how us waitresses were doing after Cal cut our coffee supply (no phones at camp). They even interviewed me and my husband and my doctor about how the absence of caffeine was affecting me (they interviewed us (Carter & Georg) about not having technology (in a mid-western U.S accent)). And as per usual Joe (Christina) stole all our thunder and took up a lot of time with her interview with the television station (in a mid-western U.S accent).

We opened up for the cameras from the television station while Jana Maria shoved harmonies down our throat (we sang the song opening up for TV2 (in a mid-western U.S accent)). Shortly thereafter, we had a beautiful weddin’ at the diner, officiated by Doctor Pomatter himself. Dawn and Ogie both gave beautiful vows. I can’t quite remember it, but Dawn was doin’ a little dancy dance, and Ogie was a table or somethin’. I liked the drum line though (Selma tought us a new dance to “I love you like a table” (in a mid-western U.S accent)).
We sabotaged the old bingo fellas (the giggle farts) at lunch time by given’ them their tea with cold water (we gave them the dirtiest cups we could and only gave them squash, no water (in a mid-western U.S accent)).
After lunch, the supply manager (Liza) arrived with our dazzling new uniforms (We got our costumes and props). Their red with white stripes!!! (in a mid-western U.S accent). But unfortunately, the diner sprung a leak and there was water everywhere so we had to close early and lot of people got soaked. (We had a water fight (in a mid-western U.S accent)). A customer was thankful he tried to give a me a hug but I panicked – baby brain and what not – that I kicked him the cotch (Georg is very sorry that he kicked Hjalte in the crotch but in his defense, he was aiming at his stomach and Hjalte was very wet (in a mid-western U.S accent)).

Then all of us working at the diner, all went out to a nice little place called Bo’s diner, where we had this amazing Thai curry with rice. Very nice would recommend but it was very expensive, luckily Joe didn’t mind puttin’ it on the company tab – I guess he owns this one too. (Bo made us a nice Thai curry for dinner of which we didn’t pay for (in a mid-western U.S accent)).

After dinner, that darndest Jana Maria pulled us aside individually, forcing us to sing our highest notes to steel our voices like some kind Urulala or whatever her name is (we had solo singing with Jana Maria (in a mid-western U.S accent)).
Then I wrote the recipe for my newest pie: textbook defense pie – a pineapple base; a creamy white custard on top; olive oil in the crust; and some slight condensation coming from the mid-western heat (Hjalte read out three pages of a book (look up textbook defense if you want more detail) (in a mid-western U.S accent)).
After a hard day’s work, me, Dawn and Becky, and Cal, all went down to the camp fire near the diner to bond fire night and cooked us up some hot daughs – I was still hungry, I’m eatin’ for two ya’know (Ann lit a fire and we made snobrød (in a mid-western U.S accent)). To my delight Doctor Pomatter joined us after his shift and we took some pregnancy photos (Georg took photos at the camp fire (in a mid-western U.S accent)). And some other photos too 😉😉.
All my love,
Jenna.
